The pool at La Bomba has been designed to be very much part of the house. Just up a few steps from the dining terrace and kitchen, you can chat with the swimmers while preparing dinner. It’s also easy to keep an eye on the children. A traditional stone barbecue completes the pool area. Worth mentioning too that the pool is completely private – for the sole use of the guests staying at the house – and it is not overlooked by any neighbours.

The pool is 12m x 6m, has Roman steps, and is fitted with a special perimeter safety alarm that, when turned on, sounds if anything bigger than a cat crosses the infra-red line.

La Bomba also has its own ‘pool guy’ who comes once a week to clean and service the pool. However, we also recommend having a go with the easy-to-use Sweepy pool robot cleaner which is provided for guest use. The pool is open from May until the end of September.

This rather handsome ironwork pergola was a new addition to garden in 2016. Overlooking the pool, it is a lovely shaded spot from which to keep an eye on the kids splashing about during the day and a divine dining area by night. The passionflower and climbing roses should start to come into their own from this year on. The Moroccan table easily seats 8.

The shaded outside dining terrace is a relatively recent addition to La Bomba and has proved a massive hit with guests. The cane pergola roof is a welcome respite from the beating sun and the glorious scent of jasmine and wild rambling roses combine to provide a very special place to take breakfast, lunch or dinner.

It’s also ideally situated next to the original stone barbecue – probably the hardest working feature of the house! With seating for 14, the dining terrace is the perfect spot for your very own Manon des Sources-style family feast.
